Timing pulleys (synchronous pulleys) are critical positive-drive transmission components. Their precision-machined teeth engage with timing belts to achieve zero slip, constant speed ratio and accurate motion synchronization. They are widely used in automation equipment, CNC machinery, packaging machines, robotics and inspection stations. Different tooth profiles are designed for different load, precision and speed requirements.

Types of Timing Pulleys

productcate-1-1

STD Timing Pulleys

STD curved tooth profile is a high-precision, low-backlash design. It runs smoothly at high speed and distributes tooth stress evenly. Common pitches: S2M, S3M, S5M, S8M.

Applications: Precision positioning, semiconductor equipment, small linear modules

T Type Timing Pulleys

T series trapezoidal tooth pulleys are classic general-purpose synchronous pulleys. Standard pitches include T2.5, T5, T10, T20. Simple structure and cost-effective.

Applications: General automation, conveying systems, low-to-medium torque positioning

AT Timing Pulleys

AT type is the reinforced trapezoidal tooth profile. Compared with standard T type, AT has thicker tooth root, stronger load capacity and better anti-jump performance. Typical pitches: AT5, AT10, AT20. Applications: Frequent start-stop, medium-load transmission such as packaging machinery

GT Timing Pulleys

GT parabolic tooth pulleys are famous for ultra-low backlash and quiet operation. GT2 is the most popular specification.

Applications: 3D printers, desktop motion platforms, pick-and-place mechanisms, lab equipment

HTD Timing Pulleys

HTD (High Torque Drive) curved tooth pulleys are optimized for heavy-load transmission. Common pitches: 3M, 5M, 8M, 14M, 20M. The curved tooth shape reduces stress concentration and improves torque transfer.

Applications: Heavy-duty industrial machines, servo drive systems, large power transmission

Imperial Tooth Timing Pulleys

Imperial (inch-size) trapezoidal timing pulleys follow the US standard. Main models: MXL, XL, L, H, XH, XXH. MXL/XL for tiny light-duty drives; L/H for medium load; XH/XXH for high torque inch-standard equipment.

Applications: Inch-standard equipment and old imported machinery replacement
